When the branch line from Mallingford to Titfield is threatened with closure, the villagers of Titfield take action and decide to run their own railway. But Vernon Crump, owner of the rival bus company has other ideas and sabotages their engine. Their only hope lies with the Thunderbolt, a vintage locomotive now retired to the local museum. But can she still take steam ?
